What works best for you.
I love reading and watching all the new lures and technics that are put on FD. Learned a lot and can't wait to try some of them this year. For me I have learned that not all new fishing technics work for me. I usually have to modify them a little. My take on fishing is learn what works for you.
A couple of years ago my wife and I tried a new lake in South Dakota. Stayed at a lodge and hired a guide. I seldom do a guided fishing trip. It was a great trip. Had a very good guide. He got us on the fish. He kept trying to get me to fish a certain way. That was good. He was doing his job. We were catching a lot of fish. I just thought I could do better. I started fishing my way. I ended up with a killer day. Was doing well the guides way. Did better my way.
Do want to say this guide did his job and did it well. He kept my wife tangle free and unhooked her fish. All I had to do was FISH. He was well tipped.
Would like to say to all you new fisherman is find what works for you. What works for one may not work for another.
Some of the new tecnics are not really new. Drop shop gets a lot of press but I'm sure many of us used a variation of it many times. Pier fishing with a 3 way rig is alot like drop shot to me.
I find myself fine tuning every outing.
A certain color or cadence may work one day and not so good next day.
One thing for sure. Don’t give up on a technique you are confident in until you change it up a little.
Bens right on that. You need to adapt to each situation. Confidence in your abilities is key. When i stated bass fishing i found something that worked n i was reluctant to try different methods. Spend time fishing outside your comfort zone. It opens up a whole new world for you.
I only change up when the technique / bait of the day isn't working. Always open for something new but if it ain't broke why fix it.

Some good weather coming in next week. Hoping to try some lures over at Piney Run and Liberty. Getting the shot on Tuesday best not affect my cast.

Figured as much, just don't upset the one with a sharp point aimed at me is my game plan.

Hope it goes well for you. Looks like 2nd one is the one that's caused some problems. We'll see

Good to know DD. I will be looking for your thread. Either way got to get that 2nd shot. I think the waiting in line will be worse then the actual shot.

Yeah, I’m sure whatever the results they will be short lived. We just gotta put our big boy pants on and GET-R-DONE
