My shooter prop is vented in front of blade,
My trophy prop is vented behind the blade
Bought a stitfire alum 4 blade and drilled
1/4 in in front of blade , should I have drill behind blade.
Shooter vented in front of blade, trophy vented behind blades

Shooter? Trophy? How about depth. Access to air. Tunnel? Just throwing stuff against the wall.
Is it better in front or behind
Drill new spitfire prop like shooter prop then ch checked my trophy prop and it was behind the blade . Asking if it makes a diff
Thanks for all your help have a nice day .

Prop venting is mostly used in two-strokes to provide bubbles, allowing exhaust gases to provide cavitation (air) to spin the prop up to speed faster to achieve the necessary speed to hit the power band. Mercury’s vent is in front of the blades and supposedly once up to speed, exhaust gases revert to through the hub. Hole sizes can be changed or eliminated to meet your needs. 4-strokes do not use vents because of how they spin up quickly to their power band.
IMO there is no need for vented props on a fishing boat. It might provide some benefit to a professional angler or racer to provide a better hole shot. I trim down and do fine.
