I did not serve myself.
My son (Dean Ihrke) was commissioned in May of 2018 and is active. He intends to go 20 years at this point.

Myself, US ARMY 1976- 1980 1st. Inf. Div.
My son Bobby USAF 2000- present. Current rank E-8 Eligible for E-9 (so proud of him)
Picture is him receiving an award in Washington call Lance P Sijan Award given to only one senior enlisted member each year. That’s the Commanding General of the Air Force presenting the award.
