Went fishing and having to stay there almost until they close before you catch fish is freaking ridulous and needs to be addressed by someone in DNR. For, it really seems as though DNR does'nt care about the patrons of they're parks and recreational facilities.
Are you saying it’s DNR responsibility for you to catch fish?
Help me understand
DNR installs microchips in all the fish. They have a switch with network settings. Can cause the fish to bite or not. But only for those with good attitudes.
Fish are really hard to count! Then you have to factor in those that may survive the spawn(perhaps 5%), those which may survive to catchable size(perhaps 10% of those that survived the spawn), those that may get transferred to other bodies of water by ducks and those other inadvertent carriers. The excuses go on and on...
...and budget cuts...😉
Whaaaat ? All day long, before you were able to see/feel happiness ?
Mayhaps you didn't accurately fill out that reservation card properly..... you know, don't you, that ALL of the blanks need to be filled in....species, size, time of hook-up...... appetizers you prefer and what time to be delivered to your boat/bank spot, brand of beer..."chilled glass with that, Sir ?"
Obviously, you left a space or two blank..... that voids the entire order, and you need to start over by getting a fresh form and filling it out COMPLETELY !
NOTE: all reservations and accompanying cards MUST BE TURNED IN 72 HOURS BEFORE ARRIVAL !!! NO EXCEPTIONS !!!
The fishing experience has been upgraded by many advancements over the past millennium, however, you must comply with all requirements, not just some. Please endeavor to be the COMPLETE FISHERPERSON, we know and expect you to be.... that way, everybody's day will go exactly as planned....none of that haphazard, "oh well" crap, that has plagued so many.
Hope this "helps" and gives you reason to venture forth once more with an eased mind...... that's ALWAYS been our collective experience.
Perhaps fishing isn’t for you. I love fishing but still have had many days WITHOUT CATCHING anything. While catching is great, fishing is about the total experience.
Is this question for real? What am I missing except a sense of humor?

I'm sorry Lonnie but I'm kind of confused like most other guys on here. maybe you can explain a little better 👍

No I'm not saying that; I just feel that they need to monitor the fish population in they're lakes to see what fish species is being fish more and replinish them more so that the people can put back large fish to help keep the popular breeds flourishing and the public can keep enjoying the sport of fishing

I guess we’re lucky in WI, our DNR does Spring shocking surveys and population estimates in many lakes periodically to determine limits based on how many, and sizes of fish of each species per acre their formulas arrive at. We also run creel surveys at times to determine what is being pulled out. Unfortunately, budget cuts reduce the accuracy of the surveys.
Then it falls on the Wardens to enforce the rules and up to us as fishermen to abide by them by not over-bagging or pulling the breeding stock of critical species out during their spawning seasons.
I have found that in general the organizations that are responsible for monitoring fresh waters are well intended. The problem has been a shortage of help and added paper work that prevents the agents from spending the required time on the waters that they monitor. This last year made things worse since they either were required to work from home or not work at all. Add to that the greatly increased number of fishermen and women that were on the water, the fishing pressure has increased two fold. I'm not making excuses for them because I have many complaints about agents trying to do their job from their desk rathe than being on the water. I am not a govt. employee but I have seen these people do some good work. Not being able to catch fish is not a DNR problem unless there is something going on with the lake in question that they are not aware of.
