So I am from NC and have been going fishing a lot in the evenings lately. This evening, it was a slight overcast with a little bit of wind. I had quite a few hits on my BioSpawn Rattlebot (Red Craw color), but somehow managed to lose some as well due to a bad hook I guess. I have a Daiwa Tatula CT with an Ark Lancer Pro Series casting rod with 12 lb P-Line fluorocarbon. The only issue with the RattleBot is that it is collecting a lot of weeds and stuff from the pond that I fish. It is a very small farm pond with a good bit of weeds in it and is pretty shallow. Can’t be more than 10 feet in the middle and I’ve been seeing a ton of fish on the bank area, but I can cast out far and drag a bait right by their face and they don’t want it (Junebug Senko), but at other times they do want it, it’s weird. The main question I have is what would be a good weedless option to swap out with the red RattleBot? I tried red senko Texas rig, no luck. Something about the lipless crank RattleBot they loved, maybe the sound. What can work as good but have the weedless benefits?

Two things I would try are a black worm on a weighted 3/0 hook or a wacky rig, rigged weedless--dark worm here also-_Senko is a good one

Try a shallow squarebill with the same color, it won't drag off the bottom
Maybe a frog or other topwater
Try a Keitech swimbait on a 4-0 worm hook.
I like Ayu color
They are weedless. And have great action

If the fish are just getting the back hook or swiping at it there's probably something about that bait they don't really like. Maybe try a smaller Crank or different lure. If they are taking up in the water column maybe try a Fluke weightless or even another color.

Might try a swim jig to get a reaction bite.
All great tips. Nothing more to add.

Absolutely love Keitech impact swim baits. The only caveat is that they’re not very durable but they absolutely out fish other swim baits from my experience.
