Trip to Asheville mid May.
Hey Ashevillians! I’m headed down for 3 days mid May and I’m looking to find some good water to fish. I know nothing about the area so I don’t really have any frame of reference as to what’s close to town or crowded. I do know I would like to stay off the popular spots and get out in the woods for some day hikes/fishing and finish back in town each night. Any recommendations are appreciated, thanks and good fishing!!!

Check out the North Mills. Park at Traceridge trailhead and hike in on FR 142. Stopped there last weekend on my way through WNC. Had a bunch of shots at fish and landed a nice brookie on a dry in the 2 hours I had before it got dark.

Thanks for the recommendation. Anything off the beaten/powerbaited path is appreciated.

No problem. Should remain fairly empty until the delayed harvest opens in June. I saw a few tents on the trail but no other anglers.

If you are wading, stop at Davidson River Outfitters in Pisgah Forest. They will let you know how the Davidson river is fishing and any wild water up in Pisgah.

Yes we will be wading. The Davidson pops up on my quick searches, that’s out in the Brevard area? Def interested in some wild water. Thanks!
