I've been out four days in a row to four different places, one day was with Flytier baitfishing for stripers, but not a bite, i threw everything at em and don't think i did anything wrong. Maybe the water is still a little chilly and they're not moving yet, that's the only thing i could think of bot that ol skunk is on me and i need to get rid of it. Here's a pic. of where i was yesterday, Turkey Swamp

Well you can rule that out exactly what i use in clear water. Good chance no vegetation in the water yet for them to be feeding from.

You just got the wrong fishing partner to go. I went the next day with my granddaughter and she caught lots of fish. Eleven to be exact, in an hour and one was a decent largemouth.πŸ˜„πŸ˜„
I did get one but I spent most of the hour trying to get a knot out of a line. She was happy too, because she broke in the new bait caster I got her for Christmas

Pretty clear water for a swamp. I think the jets scared the fish away. Your leader sounds a little heavy for that clear of water, maybe a 6#, but go easy on the hook set. What are you using for bait or lure?

Hang in there Lee !! I went Thursday. Back bay feeder creek/ river a bit south of your location. Got skunked as well , but my wife caught a trophy size white perch. It was warm out but turned very windy. Fished from land. First spot we got to was crowded and so was the next. The next after that was closed off due to heavy construction. We got to our next spot only after a few miles of convoluted detours. Stayed there for 1 hr she caught one perch I got none. Moved to next spot on bay and the wind was hard out of the east with water being solid brown. Went to another feeder creek caught none. It was nice to get out though .Holdover Stripers are here and some people have caught some nice ones. Mostly on blood worms. They are slow and finicky. I saw a guy inToms River get some on bloods and some on small white swim shad. Sometimes the bite turns on and then off like a switch. Warm days in the shallows is a good bet. White perch is still a very good bite right now. On bloodworms or sand worms and also grass shrimp. Colder days in deeper holes, warmer sunny days a little shallower. Hope we both can lose the skunk soon. It’s just a matter of time .... and getting out there.

Threw everything from lipless to spinnerbaits at them, nothing seem'd to attract them, first time i ever left that place without at least one
