Please correct me if I'm wrong. I see so many of you referring to your fishing rod as a pole. I'm a retired rod crafter and I have always thought that a fishing rod contained a reel seat, guides and if used with a reel, it could be cast a line. A fishing pole had the line attached to the tip, such as a cane pole or a tenkara pole. I'm sorry guys I'm in a fowl mood tonight and I don't know how to delete this.
A fowl mood? Wrong issue as this is about fishing. LOL

Sorry Your Honor, the word should have been "foul" and not "fowl". It's a little like the "rod" and "pole" thing, if you get the drift. It took me awhile this morning to figure out what you meant but then it hit home. (lol)
I'm sorry, but I couldn't help it. I do things like that all the time.LOL
Depends on where, when, and how ye growed up. Rod: long skinny thang used fer fishin, with or without a reel. Pole: long skinny thang used fer fishin, with or without a reel. Round here we don’t usually worry bout a title.
