Revisiting this post from a couple years ago.
I just moved to Goodyear AZ from Camano Island WA. Fly fishing WA and MT mostly and hoping to get tuned into some good trout fishing in the northern AZ area. White river looks intriguing but I do see it’s mostly rez there. Any issues with getting a permit to fish that area?
Any other recommendations for remote AZ spots where an old guy can get into some trout would truly be appreciated.
I think the best trout fishing in Arizona is in the White Mountain Apache Reservation. All the rivers and lakes are great fisheries.
You can also try the Greer Lakes and the creeks and rivers that feed into them. The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest and some good fishing waters.
