Looking for advice on where to look for fish in 35 degree water. Air temp will be 65-70 this afternoon but there were still small ice patches yesterday morning lake is only 12 foot deep in the deepest spots. Going for bass or crappies and blue gill.

Mornin' Ken, The most logical "guess", according to the temp., would be deep. According to the time of the year, they could be in transition, moving from the deeper holes where it is warmer, to the shallows. in which to spawn. Go try it and let us know. (MHO)

Hey Ken.
I’ve seen cold water with a warm sunny day bring em up shallow. Like a ft or two.
Especially if it’s been warm and sunny for a couple of days.
Try shallow off a north bank. The north end warms first.
This don’t always work but when it does. It’s fun.
If not try deep like Fly reccomends.

Not Even a nibble last night. Fished in the shallow water along the rocks where there were lots of 1-2 inch fish. tried casting out to deeper water with no better luck. But as they say its fishing not catching.

Almost always, the fish will be in the deepest spots on the pond! The only exception is if there is chunk rock/rip rap. Then the fish may migrate back and forth from the depths to the rock to warm up. If I had only one lure to fish in such cold water it would be a Damiki 1/2oz blade baits!!!
