How do you tell what the water temps are without a thermometer?

Pretty self explanatory. I’m a bank fisherman, and I don’t have a thermometer. As the air temps are starting to warm up, I’m sure that the water temps are following suit. Is there any way to guess the water temp based on the air temperature or anything else?

Go down to your local metrology lab and get your finger calibrated. No need to go below 32F.

Without a thermometer...you are simply guessing.
You can spend about $150 for a fancy electronic thermometer that records the temp at 5' intervals or you can be a cheapo like me, and have a dedicated cheapo combo with a swimming pool thermometer attached. Use it with a bobber for surface temps , weighted and quick retrieval for deep temps... easy-peasy....and a $3.99 investment.

Agree. No way of knowing if you don't have a thermometer. And I've never heard of a good way of estimating. Follow FF's advice and make the most of that.
