Headed to Bradenton, Florida, and I want to try noodling.
Does any live around there, have any tips, spots, or any advice??
On a short vacation and I’ve always wanted to try noodling! Can anyone give me some tips, tricks, spots, or if anyone lived nearby would they be willing to tag along and “guide” us??
Thanks in advance!

Watch for gators and bigass snakes down there . I wouldn’t dare get in that water.

Wrong part of the country for noodling. Catfish aren't the only things you'll find on undercut banks here.

I live in Florida and wouldn’t dare try noodeling around there. I would think a place filled with gaters, snapping turtles and water moccasins is not a place to learn.

I would only do that with an experienced guide in Florida. You've got water moccasins, snapping turtles, alligators, and gar, plus if close to salt water, potentially bull sharks from overflow/canals/etc. I have fished out of a kayak in gator and shark territory down there plenty of times, plus wade fished quite a bit in salt water, but you couldn't get me to fumble around blind in there for much of anything... maybe if I dropped my favorite high end combo in 2 feet of water or something, but even then I'd think twice. I love seeing all that wildlife... but from a distance.
It'd be a different story in say, Kansas or something where the scariest thing in the water is normally going to be a big catfish or rusty piece of metal, but not in Florida... plus there's so much other great fishing there.

Noodling is illegal in Florida.

I don't think the catfish here are big enough for noodling =), besides that, you have to be veeery careful you don't end up gatoring. No joke . . .
