Hi, I don't know about the valley but I've had them at my bird feeders for a few years here in Alpine Ca. They can be taken anytime and no limits in SD county as they are considered an invasive species. Slightly larger than a Mourning Dove and make a different cooing noise. Known as Eurasian collered dove. Larry W.

North of the 8, just E of Forrester on Dubois Dr. Look for a old stand of dead Date Palms. They roost under the hanging dead Palm fronds. Shoot more shoot more often!

Try to find a stock yard there are many there and see if you can get permission!
There are a couple outfits down there that charge per day. I have heard that they are changing $ 150.00 a day.
Hunted there last yr on a private property by a feed yard it was in sane!! We shot 200 birds beteen.3 of us.
Good luck

Thanks for the info, we've got them hanging out by the side of the house at a bird feeder, I'm not opposed to shooting two or three and having them for lunch. I peel the skin back and filet the breast meat off and bread and saute them up.

Interesting on the open season thing, are they even identifiable from the mourning doves while flying?
