I fished my neighbor’s pond yesterday afternoon trying to catch Bluegill. I was using live worms under a bobber. No luck on the Bluegill but I did catch one 10” Crappie and this guy.
Bass will go after night crawlers and worms. Another time having fun fishing for bass is later in the year when the cicadas are out. They make exelant bait. Tight lines.

Nice catch! Nice Bass, good luck and hope you can back out and catch some more!
Nice catch!! Lots of good memories fishing ponds when I was young. Some of my biggest bass came out of the farmers pond we used to sneak into lol. Our water is still frozen here but hopefully soon......
The craziest thing i caught a bass on was a piece of chicken liver. I was night fishing for catfish. The current pushed my line in close to bank. I was reeling it in fast. It was make an action close to a jitterbug. Bass slamed it.

You're giving me hope Papa. Tomorrow the lady comes & stays with my mother for 4 hours so I'm hitting a friend's pond. I usually catch bass & bluegill but after our historic freeze I might draw a blank. I bet you thought you had a monster bluegill when the bass first hit. The pond I'm fishing tomorrow was dug in the mid 60's when I44 went through here. It was dug on a family friend's place who didn't fish. My grandfather stocked the pond with minnows & mostly bluegill that he trapped at other places. The pond was to be his private catfish bait hole. When I fish there I think of him & the things he taught me about catching catfish. Tight lines.
