I need a rod recommendation for a DC bait caster.
Just picked up a Shamano Curado DC and its freaking amazing. I'm bad with bait casters but wanted the ability to stop my cast as soon as I was where I wanted to be. I final dropped the cash when one was for sale at my local shop and I threw it on what I had. A walmart $20 6 foot rod that came with a bell caster on it. It casted beautifully and gave me a bit more confidence in my cast but here's the thing. I hooked something and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to snap this rod if i got it snagged.
As far as what I'm looking for, I love my 7 foot med for my sharky 3 spinning reel. I bass fish mostly. I'd like to use this as my all rounder. Any ideas or recommendations?
Edit: I'd also prefer it be a two piece rod for transporting in my car.

I just bought one and put it on a st croix Avid 7-4 heavy
Balances nicely. Feels right
Not sure about 2 piece availability
Just checked. They are available 2 piece
I’ll 2nd the St Croix’s. I have 3 Curado DC’s all on Avid X. If it’s gonna be your all around set up I would go for a 6.6 to 7’ in med heavy.
Pawn shop, thrift store, garage sales, dats where I gets my stuff.
The rod you use would depend on what type & weight and lure you will be throwing on it. You should know the power (medium, medium heavy, or heavy) there are 4 categories light rods but you won't want any of them for Bass fishing. In addition, you need to know the action of the rod ( slow, medium, medium fast, fast, extra fast). Medium power rods for jerk baits, shallow diving crank baits. Medium heavy for Texas rigs, frogs (except Spro Frog Jr. I would use a medium with a fast tip for the Jr.) Jigs & other weedless lures. Exception: If fishing in heavy cover, go with a heavy rod. Example; jigs, creature baits, even heavy weighted Texas rigs thrown in bushes, thick lily's or matted grass. I would use a fast tip for Texas rigs, jigs, & other weed less lures. The faster the action, the more sensitive the rod is.
