Hey everyone!
New to the Gulf area out of Crystal River.
I can tell you about fishing for Lakers and King Salmon and Steelhead with down riggers, but am completely clueless about fishing the Gulf Waters.
I just bought a 21' Center Console w/ a 200 Yamaha.
Just waiting to get Title Transfer by appointment. March 19th!!!! In Inverness.
So any pointers appreciated over beers if you like.

I would suggest you find a charter and go out that way and look at the equipment ask questions, see the fish they put you on, what bait is used. The Gulf will kill you if you make a mistake. Your boat sounds nice but is it ready. Do you have a kicker motor? Do you have 2 anchors with enough rode to storm anchor. Do you have an EPIRB? Maybe you don't expect to go off shore. That changes some of the extras but it doesn't eliminate them. The Coast Guard offers Power boat classes periodically and unless you have good seamanship / navigation i would suggest it. I don't want to be a wet blanket but I know the excitement that a nice new boat can do. You may find a boater with experience to help you. Just be careful. Tight mlines to you.
