welcome to the Stage aaw. There are now over 30000 of us on here according to what I've heard, and almost all of us don't have a clue where lake Marion or Santee is. I'm gonna assume South Carolina, because the lake is probably named after the Swamp Fox and Santee Cooper is a world class fishery. But you should help us out and put your location into your profile. There is also a Santee just outside of San Diego. That what you're talkin about? Post some photos a.

I always thought it was the Lake Marion -Lake Moultrie area. Known as Santee Cooper Reservoir.
There's the state park there also.

I learned how to fish on Lake Marion and Santee Cooper when my family lived in Columbia, SC. My dad was transferred to Winston-Salem, NC when I was 12. I believe these are joining bodies of water in SC. Santee Cooper was always my favorite place to fish. Unfortunately my Dad passed away when I was 16 and I haven't been back since. AAW welcome and I wish I could help. You've just got me thinking about some of the best times I had with my Dad. Thanks

I'm very familiar with Santee ,SC It's a 110,000 acre lake and I-95 crosses over it .I'm in my late 70's and love to fish Lake Marion. This time of year the crappie start heading in to the shallows and the large mouth bass are plentiful-also the landlocked striped Bass .By the way, the three golf courses there are wonderful when fishing gets slow. Being a Realtor I have and have had several listings on the lake, with are very reasonably priced.Reply with any questions.Thanks for reading--Don G
