Just wondering if any other vermont anglers had success today (Saturday 4/13, first day that all waters are open). I got skunked on the new haven and Lewis creek. Saw a handful of other fly fisherman out there but didn’t look like anyone was catching much. I was using a variety of streamers, nymphs and egg patterns but didn’t get any bites.
Just curious!

I have heard that in the upper reaches of tributaries down south (Rutland) , some action is being had. Levels are pretty high.

I'd wait until it warms up this afternoon, but I think the waters high mostly, not to mention cold.
I may hit the Mettawee.

I went to Lewis a few days ago and the water was higher and murkier than I was hoping for.. would love to land some chrome to start this year..

I was way up stream in starksboro. And the water was pretty low and clear....you ever catch anything that far up the creek?

Never been that far up, usually we start at RT 7 and work our way up to the first falls. I only know stories of woe about Lewis so hopefully it gets better by Starksboro!
