I was cleaning out my shed and came across this. Forgot I even had it. I am wondering if it’s a good real or just so-so.
It’s a Pflueger Trion LP baitcaster. 6 bearings. 6.3-1.
Is it worth taking apart and cleaning up and if so what kind of line should I respool it with? I will be targeting bass.

As an aside, it’s mounted on a spinning rod 🤷‍♂️ So I’ll need recommendations for a rod to go with it.

Don't see why it wouldn't be a good reel. However, you gonna need a proper castin rod for it though.

Clean her up. Put some mono on it and get a “affordable “ casting rod.
Use it if she’ll still go.

Sure, clean and lube her up, fill her with 30lb braid and match it up with a MH Lightening Rod,or Ugly Stick. Get the hang of it,and when you're ready to move up, you already have a loaner for guests, kids, whoever needs one.

They still sell them at Walmart - https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pflueger-Trion-Low-Profile-Baitcast-Fishing-Reel/114071043

Or Ebay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/114700305228

Thanks everyone for your input. I’ll clean it up and get a rod and practice practice practice.

30 or 50 max braid. 30 can land an 80 lb fish. Decent BC if all works well. little oil if not functioning good is all that is usually needed.

Not sure what the actual value might be, but I found a price on one (still in its 'clamshell'
package) that was priced at $30 !
Some on the 'net' went for prices from $50 to nearly $100, but I'm not sure if they were the exact same model !

It's a good reel. I have fished mine, just like yours, on my 9 1/2' Steelhead/Salmon rod. Casts well along with my Shimanos. Load all with 50 Lb braid, same dia. as 12 Lb mono.
