Bag limit for Trout and Kokanee

This is for Calif.
I always thought lake fishing for trout and kokanee the daily bag limit was five all together. The other day a friend said you can catch 5 trout and 5 kokanee daily. Does anyone know if its a combine limit of 5 or is it 5 each? Went through the game book and could not really tell, I think its 5 total, any ideas?

After reading all the conflicting posts here about anything, I would .be reluctant to ask for legal opinions.

Just want to see other people's take on it. Maybe they can show me where to look in the game book. I know game wardens are not impress with, " but my good friend second wife third cousin said it was all right "

Fishing Berryessa where the catch can be anything, it looks like all the guides adhere to a Salmonid/Trout mixed bag...
An indicator is that once you have five in combination you are done fishing, it would not make as much sense if you've got five kokanee and keep fishing and catching kokanee you have to release to get your five trout,

That is what I am thinking. The only thing I found in the game book is 5 Trout any species total. Now they do list salmon and kokanee under their own heading. I am going to keep 5 total mix bag until I can talk to a warden

Utah just passed the regulations that any water with trout and
Kokanee the combined is only 4 fish. Kinda sucks when we smoke most of them. Just store in the freezer till we get enough to fill the smoker.

I was reading where Bullard's Bar has a catch limit of 10 Kokanee, I'm looking at hitting that this spring before the boaters go crazy. My uncle in Grass Valley wants to go fishing so it would make sense to go to Bullards from there.

I checked with my son who is a Guide at Lake Berryessa-and yes you can keep five trout and five kokanees for a ren fish limit

The Kings and Kokanee are both part of the same five fish limit they are both salmon.
