Frogmore Stew tonight. Yes, I will enjoy.
Is that a low country thing? Looks very tasty, but I've never heard it called that.

To save myself I'll have to choke down spaghetti tonight & tell my wife how good it is. I'm sure I'm the only guy that has had to do that. Like 27 I've never heard of frogmore stew but I think I could do justice to a bowl of it. I watched a fishing show this afternoon & with their fried crappie they had yellow grits with stewed tomatoes on top. It didn't look like something I'd eat unless I was very hungry.

don't see any of the garlic?
What, you don't like grits? Shrimp and grits is fine eatin. If you ever visit Charleston, if they like you they won't let you leave til you've eaten at least three plates full. Never had grits and crappie, but sure sounds good to me. It's the stewed tomatoes I'd be worried about. When i's a kid my ma tried to kill me with those.

A guy from Frogmore South Carolina brought some friends over and wanted to whip something up quick and thats where it started. Bring water to a boil add sausage for 10 minutes then add corn for 10 minutes. Take that out and put shrimp in for two minutes. Some people put small red new potatoes. But if you do don't cut them. The starch in the potatoes will make the shrimp slick and hard to peel.

My wife makes the best Shrimp and Grits. It'll make a hound dog slap his self silly with his tongue.

So - question. Have any of you ever had the stuff that comes in a can - made by Libby, same folks who make the hash? What is this stuff? Oh my goodness, I'm not a picky eater and I can eat most anything, but this? Are there really people out there that think this tastes good? Dinty Moore beef stew is pretty bad compared to what you can whip up yourself in about 30 minutes, but at least it's edible. I doubt my dog would eat it. We'll never know because I wouldn't feed it to my dog.

I eat grits. I'm just not going to dump globy stewed tomatoes over a perfectly good pile of grits. Stewed tomatoes belong in a pot of chili. That's just my opinion.
Shrimp and grits, Grillades and grits, garlic cheese grits are all good. I agree the stewed tomatoes need to stay in the chili but I might give it a try.

Easy now 27! If that Libby's canned gravy was really bad there would have been a can of it in the C Rations our government fed those of us fortunate enough to serve in SE Asia. We could have dumped it on our canned biscuit or used it as icing for the wonderful canned pound cake. Anyway, I make sausage gravy from scratch. No pre packaged anything or corn starch. Make the gravy while the cat head biscuits are baking. Just my opinion.
Gordon, from the looks of it I know I’d love frogmore stew.
Gordon serve me up a bowl of that frogmore, looks like a fine breakfast to me. I also make gravy from scratch, mostly bacon gravy but ya can’t go wrong with sausage gravy either. I even make $hit on a shingle on occasion. Never seen it in a can before and I’m with spirit I wouldn’t feed that to mo dog either. I’m so sure my dog wouldn’t eat it if I were to feed it to her.
