Just sitting here eating lunch , reading the stage and I suddenly remembered an awesome technique from back in the day
Ever watch inshore flats fishermen use popping corks? Well this is a freshwater variant of that that absolutely catches bass.
Take a rebel Pop R. Remove the rear hook and split ring and tie about 14 inches of 12 pound mono to the rear hook loop
Tie on a small Maribu or hair jig to the end of this mono.
Work the PopR like you normally would . Pop pop pause
Bass that focus on the top water but won’t commit , can’t resist the little morsel trailing behind.
I haven’t done this in years , but it works big time.
Going to have to try that one, thanks!

I do the same thing with other lures. A 3 inch curl tail grub on a jig head tied behind a crankbait will catch a lot of fish & it's not unusual to catch a double.

I’ve never seen that Ben, but you can bet I’m going to set a couple up and try that here in April
