Alright so the private lake I live on was just stocked with rainbow trout on the 2nd. Rumor going around the lake is that we shouldn’t fish for a month after stocking, so the fish can “acclimate” to the water. Is this just BS to keep people off the lake? Do the fish really need a whole month? Because I’m dying to fish and so far I see nothing online about fish needing a month to get used to the lake.

It BS, we fish right after they dump em’ in the water.

In my city the locals snag em as they are coming out the truck and run before anyone can catch them.

It’s not BS in the fact of they need acclimation time, it is BS in the fact of you can’t fish. The fishing might not be as good depending on the last time they were fed or their stress levels, that’s why they need the acclimation, but you can fish lol
