Does using Fish Scents really work?

I won't worm fish without my scents. Years of experimenting with and without these scents have made me a TRUE believer. I have no idea if this actually makes a difference or not but I place the scent at the nose of the worm and not the tail. My thought is to make the fish take the entire worm and not just the tail end.

I would assume the people who selfish sense have done the research, but whenever I thought about buying any of it I feel like the guy that's buying some snake oil from a traveling salesman. After all when you use it did it work? So I guess it's kind of a if you have confidence in it after using it a few times and it seems to be working you can do a double blind test to check your opinion. When you're fishing for commis a bluegill and you're on a nest try fishing with it and without it see if there's any real difference. Other than that I don't think anybody really knows if you find out let me know LOL

I'm a big fan of the guys on YouTube in Florida called "Salt Strong". They did a video on scents a while back and the best part was what scents turned fish away. A big shock was tobacco. Guys who smoked and baited their hooks definitely had lower bite ratios. I can tell you I get more bites using VuDu Shrimp than I do with nearly identical DOA shrimp. I've also been a big fan of "Gulp" swimming minnows.

I use yum spray n kvd sticks crawfish/shad/garlic/anise. Uncle mikes works well also. I use a senko or tube or any plastic till salt wears off. Apply scent n more times than not I'll get bite. Coffee scent at time. I even put it on hard baits. Example. Last yr while stripper fish 3 if us use black chrome super spooks. Bite would die n I'd apply uncles mikes crawfish on the belly. It like a gel bright orange color that stays on for awhile. Cast that bad boy out within a few casts I'd start catch. Not my buddies.

Scent makes them chew on it longer so is old guys get better hookup s. (Smelly Jelly) .
