I fish mostly Florida fresh and salt but I’m traveling to northern New Mexico next week and looking to do a little fishing. I have a day booked with a guide for fly fishing for myself but also looking for some recommendations on lures to throw with small spinners for the others in my group. We will be staying near Eagle Lake (read it’s stocked with trout and Kokanee) and by the rio grand (trout and possibly northern pike but I can’t find much on what exactly their range is).
I’m going to bring a few bass/inshore lures for the pike but really looking for recommendations on the trout and salmon. Thinking of just getting a small variety pack of inline spinners off amazon but wanted to see if anyone else had suggestions. Also, any pointers on what the fish may be doing in regards to where in the lake/streams to fish would be greatly appreciated.

Cant go wrong with panther martins, rooster tails, and kastmasters. Pistol petes are good for smaller streams. If you fish the rio grande go ahead and toss a small jerkbait in the deeper pools, that'll get the pike or big trout. All else fails, use live worms. Good luck hope you enjoy NM! Try the green chile.

Thanks! Do you happen to know the protocol for pike in that area as to releases? I know that fishermen are discouraged from releasing them in some places they’re introduced but I don’t know what, if any, impact they’re having on the streams there.

I know in Eagles Nest they are trying to get rid of the pike so keeping them is encouraged. However, I never keep pike so you'll be fine releasing them too.
