What style of pfd do you prefer and why did you choose that kind? Have you tried several kinds? Also for the bigger guys over 250 with a barrel chest what works best for you as far as paddling etc.?

My Wife and I have simple vests from Bass Pro, with mesh shoulders to vent the heat and so as not inhibit paddling and control. I bought these for pricing reasons only as we can swim, but the added flotation is for emergencies, anyway. I would probably upgrade at the next sale if the price was right.

I just got an inflatable one for Christmas. I can’t wait to try it. I’ve used a regular one from bass pro for 2 years. It was ok but bulky. While fishing.

I use the regular mesh with the plastic clips . Slides off pretty easy if need i it to. Only wear it while paddling to/ from my fishing area. I used to have the inflatable kind, but I accidentally got it wet paddling and it blew up ( inflated)on me. Never used it again...lol..My 2cents

If I was gonna use a yak, I think I'd take the sensor out, and use it as a manual. Even though the manufacturer's all say water PRESSURE is required to trigger them, not just water.

I like my inflatable I got the manual style ( you must pull cord) and it is lightweight , comfortable and stays out of my way fishing or paddling
