New leader tip

Just watched a show about topwater fishing which revealed a nice tip about leader material. I have seen many discussions about fluoro vs mono leaders for those who are concerned about braided lines spooking fish. The tip was to avoid using fluoro on lures such as poppers as the fluoro line will sink and have an adverse effect on the lure action as it will pull the front of the lure down. Use monofilament lines for those presentations as the mono has neutral buoyancy which will help the lure run as intended. Something to think about, anyway.
I plan to put a sticker on each of my setups showing me what I have in the boat from now on so I don’t risk using the wrong setup for the chosen presentations. I make enough mistakes on my own 😉

I've never used fluoro or braid before. I have mono on all my reels and never had a problem. Nice to hear the pros and cons of each type. Thanks OJ. I'll keep that info in the back of my mind.

Hey Gordon what type of mono do you use any certain brand for different types of fishing

Mostly Cajun Red when I can find it. I don't think they see it any more. Huntm22 sent me some last summer and I was able to re spool 8 of my reels with enough left over to do again later. Also use Stren Magna Flex and Berkley Trilene.
