This is in Calif: While fishing today a young Game Warden came by checking license's a real nice guy. He was telling us better get a new fishing game book on the regs. Beginning in March all fishing laws are changing for trout fishing . You will be able to fish year around in the streams but with all kinds of new rules. Have any of you have heard any of this. He said F&G are ordering a whole bunch of signs to put up on different streams to help explain the new rules. I haven't learn all the old rules yet.

New rules, old rules, more rules to break, more money in fines. Fines are what funds free school. The world needs more rules. But at least you'll get to fish year round.

You just about have to have an attorney as your fishing buddy anymore. I'm not even sure that an attorney could figure out the rules here in California!

Egghead maybe you can fish year around if you a afford to go after all the fines. He was a up right warden, had no idea why things were changing and said if the brass let's him , he would give out more warnings than tickets the first year.

I went to sportsmans warehouse for a new fishing regulations book. They said they no longer print them and I would need to download online. Good luck!

He did but hard to explain, kept saying to get a book or down load on line, he did say very few books will be given out so it will be even harder because you have to go on line to read the rules. One was stream fishing will be open year around in most places. From April to Nov. (the old season) mostly same rules but from Nov. to April that is where rules change, limit size, lures or baits, size hooks etc. Got on F&W web site this morning and they said the new rules will be on line sometime in March before trout season opens. So sounds like they are not even ready yet.
