I was going to go fishing at Lake Chabot in Castro Valley California and something important came up so that didn't happen!! I just wanted to know if anyone has Information about Lake Chabot and what bait to use and is it best to fish from a boat and we're to fish if in a boat what to look for so I can come home with some Fish no matter what species's except a CARP ALL your knowledge will be highly appreciated!! Hello local if you are renting a boat there head to the back side around the island troll with Trout equipment they have some good size trout there I’ve caught them before there if you are bank fishing try night crawlers and power bait in the green and yellow patterns good luck 👍🍀

Thanks ALot for the information I will try that and how do I rig up if I anchor out there? What size hooks do you recommend and how much weight of sinker? One guy showed me the hooks he uses and I said what do you catch with those they were so small I think they were even to small for a minnow no joke if he was to catch something about 2lbs or more he would lose it what's the biggest I can use for Trout using Night Crawlers and Power bait! And do you know anything about The SAN Pablo DAM they are open now and I would fish from a boat??! Thanks my Friend!!🐟🙏😎

Try using a size 6 hook with light weights half oz or split shots a couple feet up on your line with hook on bottom you know you are not allowed any gas motors on lake only electric trolling motor

I've trolled from my kayak a few times from there and each time I have caught trout over 7 lbs!
My trolling lures consist of 1/4 oz Panther Martins and Rapala Countdowns :-) Right now is the best time to troll topwater because of the colder water temps ;-)
If you do troll, try your favorite trout lures and have confidence in them :-)

If fishing from shore, head to Raccoon Point and throw your favorite trout baits. ;-) You will thank me later!

Thanks ALot for the information I will try all the things you said, at Lake Chabot they rent electric boats but at San Pablo Reservoir the rent gas motor boats and they are much faster I might try there tomorrow, do you know anything about this fishing spot?? Have a great day!
