Advice on tackle for cold bass fishing.

I'm planning on seeing if I can catch any in this weather. Every pond has snow and a little ice, but I know deep water stays around 55-60.

I'm not sure that's exactly true. I don't think the water in Lake Tahoe EVER gets that temp. AND it's 1600 feet deep. Deep water there is so cold that the bodies that drown/sink usually never resurface. It's not warm enough for them to decompose, which causes them to bloat and rise to the top.
I'm sure you weren't talkin bout those lakes though. I'm sure the Great Lakes are like that also. But IDK.
