Yep, the Jitterbug and Hula Popper (both in black) used to be my summer evening favorites, especially around weed beds. Haven't fished either one in years.

Do you know if the Hula Popper comes with a skirt or no? I found one of those, too. It has a crappy rotten skirt on it that I'm gonna have to replace, too.

Hula popper had a skirt. Still one of my favorite lures for bass around lily pads.

Works well without skirt too. On my new ones I superglue the skirt on.

Try using some of your left braid and tie them on. That's what I do to my jigs and spinnerbaits. I use my 65lb from frog and swimbait rods.

Yeah, I think back in those skirts were some sort of rubber that would deteriorate after a few years - or if you stored them with soft plastics.

Been using jitterbugs my whole life. That's a go to summer night lure.

I thought every well stocked tackle box had a Jitterbug and a Hula Popper in it. I use the small size (4") electrical zip ties to put replacement skirts on my spinnerbaits. I'm sure that would work on your Hula Popper.

We used to laugh when we went fishing for bass in Nevada with my wife's Grandad. He had a nickname for this lure. He called it a "fluttermouse". He used grey/white ones and they did look like a mouse fluttering in the water. Boy did they catch fish! Still have a couple in my tackle box. makes me think of him everytime I see them.
