Looking for advice on a heavy duty bass oriented rod that can double up as a muskie rod

Sub $200

I broke my Saint Croix Bass X (7' 1" Medium Power/Fast Action) last night so I'm going rod shopping tomorrow. I was going to do this anyways this summer, but this has moved my plans forward.

I fish my kayak and up until yesterday I carried a ML, 2x M and a MH rod. I realllly would like to swap out the broken Medium rod for a big boy one. I'd like to get something capable of throwing large 1/2oz+ cranks, 1oz+ swim and most importantly I REALLY want an Alabama Rig capable rod.

I've seen a few rods labeled as "flipping rods" that seem to have an ideal weight as low as 1/4oz all the way up to 2-3oz. Is there something inherently different about a "flipping" style rod as opposed to a normal ole rod?

I have a St Croix mojo bass 7’9” heavy power. Plenty stout for muskies. It’s labeled as a bass swimbait rod.

Is that the one with a suggested lure weight of 1-4oz?

I wouldn't want a jig rod for all that myself, a fast or xfast action rod isn't going to be great for A-Rigs or cranks in my opinion... you might want that for swimbaits, but I hate fast action for cranks and for the little A-rig fishing I do prefer a slower action as well. I'd probably look at a moderate/moderate fast, 7'6" or maybe even up to 8' , MH or H power rod to try and do it all. See if St. Croix will do anything warranty wise, they're usually pretty good from what I hear. In the Mojo Bass line they've got a 7'11" H moderate and a 7'6" MH moderate rod that might be along the lines of what you're looking for for do it all. Dobyn's Champion line is a step up from and I believe has a crankbait rod that might also work well, DC 765cb or something like that, probably wouldn't do the glass version though. That'd work well for bigger and deeper cranks and a-rigs, and probably do the job for swimbaits as well.

Yea I want to stay away from glass for this one. I personally LOVE fast action for cranks, but again that's all about preference imo. I'm really eyeballing a 7' 10" Heavy/Fast Mojo Bass that I believe my local Sportsman's has in stock (since its "available for instore pickup tomorrow"). Would be a PERFECT fit for my Lew's Mach Crush with 30# braid. Then I can swap my Abu Garcia Orra SX (or upgrade it since I'm having magnetic brake issues) and throw it on my current 7' 1" MH Mojo Bass.

I am going to see about a warranty replacement and if its cheap I'll just keep it as a good spare rod.
