Since we weren't going camping at Pyramid Lake in Nevada because of road conditions around Donner Pass, we opted to go to our local lake in Livermore, Del Valle Lake. I was able to book a site for our RV but they only had power. No water or sewer hookups because of COVID restrictions. We knew we were going to get a little rain on Saturday and Monday, so I was only prepared to fish on Sunday, Valentine's Day 🙂 We were able to ask Christy's daughter, Alli, if we could take our Granddaughter, Alma with us on this camping trip. She said, yes! So we drove to Santa Cruz on Saturday morning to pick her up, came back to Livermore, hooked up the RV and drove a few minutes to Del Valle. We set up camp and had ribeye steaks for dinner. Sunday morning, I was going to get an early start. The lady at the park booth told me to get their early because there might be a long line at 7am, when they opened. I got there about 6:30am and I was first in line! I was expecting more, but I figured, since it was Valentine's Day, maybe not? As I was preparing my kayak, a fellow kayak angler appeared behind me, saying, Fresh and Salty? It was Josh Bister, who I met at Lake Amador a couple of weekends ago. He was there with a friend, Joe, to go after some trout. I was there to go after anything. LOL! It was a great day for fishing, but the catching started out slow. I had a few hits but no hookups. After a while, I went to see how Josh and Joe were doing. They were doing well! I started catching some as well then called it a day. It was about 3pm and I figured I would call it quits to go spend time with Christy and our granddaughter before it got dark. Christy cooked a up a Mushroom Cannelloni meal and I cooked up some lobster tails to go with them for our Valentine's Day Dinner 🙂 It was awesome!!! We later had dessert surprise that I got Christy. Watch the video 🙂 All in all, a great weekend with our Granddaughter and spending time together! 🙂
Slabs - average size we were catching :-)
Happy Angler :-)
Them are good eating right there!
Nice...How were you fishing for those? Depth and whatnot.

Hi WoodGuru - it seems they are starting to hit shallow waters now. We were trolling small jigs from our kayaks.

Thanks, Michael4Now :-) I noticed you live in Wilder, ID. We used to live in Caldwell, ID back in 2016/17 :-)
