What kinds of ultra light lures could I get? I already have the Rapala ultra light series but have 2 UL Pop in chrome but thinking about a frog color. I got Rebel crawfish, a Yozuri Snap Bean, a Yozuri Shad, Rapala Countdown CD-1, Husky Jerks, and a bunch of crappie jigs. Any recommendations on any hardbaits I should get when I get the chance?

A Heddon Tiny Torpedo could provide a lot of fun, along with some Beetle Spins and some Mepps spinners

The whole series of tiny rebel lures have worked for me, especially the smaller ones. Generally I fish ultralight all year and always carry trout magnets, tiny jigheads and hooks, lots of inlines (still the go to), Nikko and zman soft baits (harder to lose) yum grubs and gulp minnows.

Plenty of other stuff in the bag, but I think those are my top suggestion.

The chatterbait, my favorite 1/8 oz, and don't forget all the different trailers you can get in 2-2 1/2", baby torpedo, rooster tail, beetle spins, jigs, are some of mine.

Ben: There must be something wrong with me. I have never gotten so much as a strike on a Mepps. On the other hand, I have the utmost confidence in Panther Martins.

The Heddon Museum is another place I want to get to this year. It is only open certain days of the week. I think it is only about 1 1/2 hours away.

The hot shot is my trolling go to lure for trout and perch. I have all kinds of micro and mini lures but the hot shot always fishes as well or better than all the other lures. It is a bit light for casting but even works well at slow float tube speed.

In my are, the original Mepps squirrel tail in varying sizes is one of my top three confidence baits. I think because we have lots of crawdads or crayfish. The panther martin spinners are more minnow reflective.

Ultralight crankbaits are as easy to find as WalMart.
There is one that never failed me, but is now rare and hard to find. You might be able to find it on eBay. It’s call a Rocky Jr. of Sr. There is also some called an Inch Minnow. Both are one or one and half inch jointed crank bait, not much different from a Rapala or Rebel.

Have had good luck with a Hula Popper around cattails. They used to come in smaller sizes. Do not know if they still do.

I find the lures I use the most are the ones I catch the most fish on!?! Oxymoron? I use Mepps a lot, and they make a Crawler Harness that is Killer with a Gulp worm but most of my Mepps are #3-#5 blades, not really ultra light. Chatterbaits are another great lure I catch a lot of fish on and I do like the 1/16 or 1/8 oz chatterbaits with leaches hanging off them. In the photos here half of the fish are caught of the dock out back, and the beat up #3 Mepps I caught the Mini Musky and the Bass on is now in the South fork of the Crow river below the dam in Watertown Minnesota, I did buy another smaller Mepps to replace it.
I carry 3-5 rods with me most of the time and 1 is light or ultra light, but I still use a heavier braided line, because I like the way it casts, and how thin it is. I will catch a couple of hundred fish on Mepps every year, but only because I use Mepps a lot!
I wish you guys would Post more pictures of what your talking about!
