Well met up with my cousin from Oregon and his boys tonight. They have depredation elk permits and they invited me as none have ever killed an elk. ABSOLUTELY!! We have two days to kill elk.
I needed they invite. Next week I go back to the eye doc. He should have the MRI of my head. I have a cataract and glaucoma in my shooting eye but he feels there might be something going on with the optic nerve - therefore the MRI.
Then the following week I have a scope on my knee for a torn meniscus and frayed tendon which he hopes he can repair.
I will probably be away for a while. No cell service on the ranch so wishing you all tight lines!
My best to you all
Duane
Good luck.......with everything!

Good Luck on the Elk, Hunt (see what I did there,LOL). And especially Good Luck with the doctors Duane!
Go out and have fun buddy, a good elk hunt is something you need. I lost the vision in my shooting eye 2 years ago. And half if the other eye 3 months later. The viens in my optic nerves collapsed, and left me with blind spots. They said the cause was sleep apnea. Oxygen drops to low when I quit breathing when I sleep. Now u have a CPAP machine. But vision still gone. Good luck.
CPAP the curse of my life. I just can't get used to it so it sits in it's case and I opted for sitting up when I sleep and losing a lot of weight. Maybe I can use the CPAP as a bubbler in my laundry tub to keep bait alive. No one wants to buy one at a yard sale and you see lots of them. Off to my Lazy Boy.

Well, do as you want. It took me a long time to get used to it. But am still getting used to only seeing pieces out of both eyes. I was told 30 years ago that I needed one. But I was to tough and to mean for that crap. I looked real tough crying when the Dr said I was going to be blind. It's been two years, now I can't sleep without it. Good thing is, I can stay up all night fishing lol,and not get sleepy. LMAO. It's a small price to pay for a better life. Think about it.

There are dozens of different masks you can use, so don’t hesitate to try to find one. I have been using one for over 15 years. I still don’t get much sleep, but what I do get is more restful and I feel more energetic in the morning. I had never heard of the side effects regarding blindness, so that would be enough for me.
I will admit, the first night I used mine was terrible, I did wake up and found the face mask and hose tied up and twisted in the corner, hissing away. I did vaguely remember a dream I had about an octopus or a boa constrictor...or both. Apparently I won the fight, but I did have to replace the hose as it must have been a heckuva battle 😉
My older brother needs one, but refuses to, but the possibility of blindness may be enough to convince him. Thanks for sharing that!
This site never ceases to amaze me...
Good luck to the hunters and also to others who need it.
