Helped a kid catch his first fish today.
If you have the opportunity to share your knowledge and get someone excited about fishing, do it.
My buddy and I caught around 20 dinks each today at a small pond and a kid around 13 or so showed up and I saw him lose his crappie spinner in a tree and he had no other lures so I tied him on a wacky rig. He snagged that one so tied him on a Texas rig and told him where to cast because i caught em 3 casts in a row in that spot and he caught his first fish ever. Then I gave him another senko before i left and as i pulled out of the parking lot i saw him catch another and run over to his dad with it to take a picture. Felt good. Hope he learned a little bit and gets into fishing.

Thats awesome man! Need more people like you in the fishing community especially with how a lot of the kids my age fish like jerks because they grew up on googan squad. I cant wait to one day pass on my knowledge to my own children.

Damn man that's ironic my last post was me catching em on googan baits Haha. I was catching em consistently right near him and he ran over excited when I caught them so I knew my goal for the rest of the day was to make sure he got one. I'm only 21 and I already cant wait to teach my future kids how to fish man. I've caught many many fish and still get excited every time so I can only imagine how it feels when someone catches their first one.

For sure man and to clarify nothing against the actually googan baits or guys in the googan squad I look up to Jon B being an Illinois angler like myself. Just their fans are sometimes jerks. We just got a fishing team at my HS and half the kids that show up are the type to take your spot the second you catch something, talk shit about PB’s and leave junk everywhere lol.

Yeah that type of stuff isnt good for the fishing community. If someone shows up doing that shit I'm not going to be as inclined to tell them where I'm catching em and what to use and shit....but if someone is genuinely curious and wants to learn and seems like a good person it's great to be able to help.

You are a good man, Wolf.
You just made an addict to fishing. Lol
ITS BETTER TO TEACH/HELP A KID TO FISH SO HIS HEAD IS NOT IN A PHONE, TABLET OR COMPUTER. NOTHING WRONG WITH MASS COMMUNICATIONS BUT TOO MUCH IS TOO MUCH. kIDS NEED TO BE OUTDOORS AND LEARNING/ENJOYING NATURE. FISHING IS A GREAT WAY. PROUD OF YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME AND EFFORT.
That's great ,If we can get kids hooked on fishing that better than them hooked on drugs .I give a kid a chance to fish every time I can . If you see a kid watching you or around the water put a pole in their hand ,and help them catch a fish no matter how big . My kids got hooked on fishing with bread balls ,catching brim and shiners ,that I used for bait . Just get a kid fishing ,they are the ones who will save and support our sport .
