I wouldn't worry to much about it. New admin. Will pass a drilling ban in the next four years so they can forse EVERY one of us to buy electric cars.. someone is going to get rich, but it's not going to be any of us. I feel for ya tho Kerry. It's amazing how so many people and gov. Bad mouth and h**e oil n gas. But stop and look how much money there making by taxing it. When it's gone where's that tax money coming from ????? There already talking about taxing us for sun and wind. The harder it blows the more we pay. If it's cloudy we get a little break, but sunny days the meter goes faster.. without Coal, gas, Diesel natural gas and crude oil. How much do ya think it's Gunna cost to charge up your car????? Oh!!! And there's another tax. More taxes, more taxes. But at least we will all feel good knowing that our hard earned money is going to someone else that doesn't have to lift a finger for it. They will pay someone a minimum wage to collect and take our money to there bank account.

Dark days are coming, it's going to get ugly.

Speaking about Charging the car, We all know how long it takes to fill our car gas tanks, How long will it take to recharge the big battery?

I don't know what I am going to do when I have to have a Solar panel and a wind mill on top of my car. They are going to have to raise the overpasses and until they do I will have to exit before the overpass and then get back on the highway. Also we will have to stop from time to time when there is a good stiff wind so we can point our cars into the wind to take advantage of it to charge up the battery.

Hey Maryland had a Rain Tax. It got k**led a couple years later, but they were taxing how much rain run off there was on the property. Churches and others with parking lots got taxed most.

Connecticut used to be one of the highest but no longer. Gas here is 2.29 a gallon. Pennsylvania which is I believe top 3 is 2.49. Somehow it levels off. I agree with egg. The tax/price is the least of our energy problems. Keystone pipeline shut down and no longer energy independent. Importing oil we will back up to 4 a gallon before you know it. I guess we get the president we or somebody else v**es for. It’s crazy how much people will spend in taxes just to shut someone up.

They raised the gas tax exactly .18cents 2years ago in California. And that’s exactly how much they want to raise ours. So you can bet that if something happens in California,it’s going to happen here.

Actually I just googled it....
At 67¢/gal... Washington doesn't even make the top five. Pennsylvania, California... google it..Dec, 2020 pricing.

$2.49/gal ?...we in Oregon would love that ! $2.65-$2.85, depending on grade.

Keystone XL ??? Not only was it an unwise project to begin with, but the original Keystone (Nebraska to the Gulf)has already experienced 21 noted leaks, who knows how many yet undetected, a MAJOR flaw in the design renders repairs nearly impossible....400,000 gallons spilled as of 2019.
The "employment numbers" are literally everywhere. Today's reports say 1,000 layoffs. Some Republican pundits were claiming 71,000(??) jobs "lost" by the shutdown, while the company doing the work claims 22,000 "at peak"....go figure, believe who you like.

And here's the real "dirty secret".... it's not what we pump in the Flint Hills of Kansas,... it's a nasty mix, "tar sand" with bitumin(coal), needs formaldehyde added, just to flow, then inordinate measures to refine (which if the plan moved forward, would be on the Gulf... lovely additional wildlife/marine life hazard for y'all, huh ?).....SO IT CAN BE LOADED ONTO FREIGHTERS AND SHIPPED !!

What ? You thought it was going to make the good ol' USA energy independent ?
Joke's on you and that thought !
A few days after refinement and loading, that product won't even be in the Western Hemisphere, folks...quick trip to Europe, or down and through the Panama Canal and off to Asia.
Don't be naive and please, inform yourself of who and what factions truly control this. The prime minister of Alberta was on TV today, expressing his displeasure, of course..... Alberta stood to make billions, not the USA !!!
I say, you got coasts, build your OWN shipping port, Canada, run your pipeline on YOUR land, let it 'eff up YOUR nature, build your own damn refinery and deal with the toxic waste that's necessary to extract before "tar sand" becomes a usable product. Our country is being hoodwinked.... recognize it, please.

We here in Oregon, have been in a years long battle with another Canadian company, Pembina, over a proposed natural gas pipeline from the middle of Oregon (Malin)to Coos Bay, on the coast, 200+ miles. Would have cut across 300+ waterways, with a 100' swath through what is essentially "volcanic prone lands". Can you think of anything more insane ?
And yet again... the friggin Canucks !.........WE GET NONE OF IT !!!
They would be shipping it to China, already told us so, the dummies !
Just in the past few days, FERC denied the permit for the project, known as "the Jordan Cove Project", not because of the environmental concerns, not because of earthquake potential, not because the proposed "terminal" is in a TSUNAMI ZONE !!
No... our precious Federal Energy Regulations Commission (FERC) denied the permit because Pembina ....get this !.....could not "prove" it had "a buyer" for the Natural Gas !!! Just how lame is that ? !!!
As you can tell by now, I am passionate about this subject, even as I cash my tiny monthly check from Plains Marketing in Houston, for the oil they pump off my ranchland in Kansas......and then I give part of it monthly to a group called Rogue Riverkeepers (one of the leading organizations fighting the Jordan Cove Project) and some more to the Oregon chapter of the CCA, the Coastal Conservation Assoc., trying hard to protect our coastal fisheries and most importantly, SALMON.

I hope for a good economy, but never at the expense of Mother Earth, and certainly not by "carpetbaggers from the North"......... y'all south of the Mason-Dixon understand that trepidation, don'tcha ?

just wondering how much extra per gal you have to pay in Oregon because they don't trust ya to know how to pump your own gas and so they have to hire highly trained individuals to do that for ya. but at any rate it will be interesting to see what the gas price is nation wide come 2024 I'm thinking by then it will be back up to the $4 mark

just checked Wa. gas tax currently 3rd highest but with the new gas tax we will be the highest. Yea! were number 1!!
couple years ago they put a gas tax on the b****t saying they were going to increase lane capacity so the naive v**ed it in. they used the money to add a couple lanes but then made them toll lanes so even though we paid for them with taxes we still had to pay to use them. In addition our governor is still pushing a carbon tax to raise all forms of energy even more.

Anyone that thinks we can operate on solar and wind alone is a fool. Wind turbines pollute more than they produce not to mention all the birds they k**l. Liberals are consistently inconsistent in their ideas. I may get sparked and sent to the attic over this but it won’t be first time.
