while I understand the humor here, if you fall thru the ice, you have at best 3-4 minutes (depending on what your wearing) to get out of water that is below 54*. hypothermia sets in very quickly which numbs all your muscles, including your brain. experienced it, not something I like recalling. As I lay on the shore VIOLENTLY shaking I thought "this is it". I have never fished alone in cold water since.

That's a good lesson learned. Glad you made it out. Lots of folks don't.

No disrespect intended. My Boss fell through about 25 years ago and hasn’t been on the ice since. It was a foggy day and he was lucky someone heard him yelling and was able to find him.

well, usually the only place we can get any ice is by the bag at 7 --11 for about $ 2.00 a bag~ Just Sayin...RJS

Yes, you are right. I did find the money that one time when I was in desparate straits, Thank God! Back in 1954, which was a blessing I will never forget. Just Sayin...RJS
