Lithium or Optima Batteries

Has anyone had experience with Lithium or Optima batteries ? I've heard a lot of positive on these in advertisements but don't know anyone who has them. Do they weigh a lot less, and is there a single Lithium battery that is 36 volt and replaces 3 12 volt batteries in series with more power. What is the life of them ? I would set up my 36 V trolling motor with them. Also is anyone using the 5 battery system that is very new ?What brands are popular ?

I use optimas on my 24 v system and one for my cranking battery. Blue top
They seem to have plenty of reserve.
I’ve never come close to draining
I’ve used 2 days and still had juice.
I’ve seen the lithium’s online. They are much lighter but man they are expensive.

I always used sealed agm batteries.the good big ones are about $400 each .and weigh about 70 pounds each .three is a bunch of weight my next boat will come with the big Dakota Lithium batteries. 1/3the weight and last alot longer.they also have an 11 year warranty.so over time price wise??? A little more than AGM batteries initially. But have almost twice the life. A lithium gives your motor and electronics a full voltage right to the end where other batteries start to die and lose power towards the end of the charge cycle. All our boating electronics are designed to function on 12.6 to 14.5 volts. Low voltage is what kills electronics. The lithiums, are well worth the added cost. And they recharge 3 times faster.

Solar Electrical Engineer I buy Solar Equipment from told me that a Standard Lead Acid ( all batteries but Lithium use same technology )

Lead Acid , Gel Cell, AGM Are all like aiming a garden hose at a sponge and hope it absorbs it all ( charging battery )

Lithium is like Filling a mylar balloon no loss ( all energy is absorbed in battery when current is available )

I run 3 Optima’s, 1 yellow top for cranking, 2 blue top’s for trolling. I have fished Friday night all day both Saturday and Sunday several times with out charging all while doing a lot of trolling, never had any issues what so ever. I even had power in reserve, they are not lighter, however they are worth every penny in my opinion.
