Hello everyone is there any good fishing for Rock Cod in San Francisco Bay my son can’t handle ocean water he has gotten sick at the Delta on windy days so if anyone knows of good fishing areas I would deeply appreciate it

Sorry no rock cod in the bay, but tou can get stripper, sharks.rays and things perch and flounder , sturgeon in the right area around the bay

You got that right 👍I personally have fished 🎣in and out of the Bay from both Boat and shore but looking for areas where I can take my son where the water will be a little calmer

That’s okay I was just trying to get information on what areas I could fish 🎣 and have any kind of luck for Rock cod without having to go outside the Bay

In San Francisco you can get strippers on broadway ave . If they aren’t closed for Covid . Just sayin 🤣

D, sorry no rock fish in the bay, however there are Halibut and stripers, sturgen and flounders, perch, white fish, and some others I forgot. The bay is often ROUGH, lots of chop, when the wind blows which is almost every day. Used to be some good spots along the south bay for stripers and sharks and rays, cayote point, and further on down toward redwood city, have not fished there in 30 years so cannot tell exact spots but someone on here can.

Wow that’s too bad I went fishing 🎣 with a couple of friends about 10 years ago and one of my friends caught a nice rock cod while we were tossing bass lures around some small island in the north Bay Area but I don’t remember what or where we were

Well I did catch a small ling cod on the way out of Sausilito while on a bass fishing trip, trolling live anchovie. It was not 22 inches so had to throw it back. other than that no rock fish, but why not just give it a try, around the sisters and brothers either one should yield something. A little further up from Richmond in the bay there are a lot of flounder, they will bite bait like anchovy or herring or squid.

I got sick on the bay by the mothball fleet on a 27ft boat fishing for sturgeon in swells, looked into Dramamine, now I'd go outside the gate without worrying about that misery, the stuff works.
