Out on some of So. Cal.'s finest bass lakes nine times this year, I was still 0 for 9. I'd walk by fish cleaning facilities and accuse folks of "bringing them from home" and swear there no fish in this place. After my 89 year old Dad heard I was complaining to anyone who'd listen and looking to swap the boat for a golf club membership, he booked a flight and was on my porch, pole in hand two days later.
His first cast of the year he hooked and lost one we estimated at about 5lb. Blamed the late hook set on jet lag. He hooked this beautiful 4 lb. lmb on his second cast. Reality restored. Thanks Dad, I feel much better now.
Way to go dad. Nothing like an old man teaching his son how to catch fish. We old men know how to hold our mouth right when fishing.
You make me proud to be an old man.
