Bass fishing is fair and most fish are on a winter pattern on the creek and river channel ledges. Spinner Baits and Crank Baits are working well jigs and Carolina rigs are catching fish also.

Crappie fishing is good The fish are being caught long line trolling with Jiffy Jigs they are suspended in the river and creek channels 7 to 9 feet deep some fish are still being caught spider rigging with minnows on the river channel ledges.

Striper fishing is poor and no reports on any fish being caught in the last few weeks.

We have 50 of my proven GPS waypoints for sale. These are off shore structure for Bass and Crappie fishing on Weiss Lake Alabama. Contact Ken Sturdivant at kensturdivant@att.net

Our ‘On the Water” SONAR School is designed to teach anglers how to read all the latest technology from Sonar Side Scan and Structure Scan technology. We started these schools and that is to help anglers of all ages and skill levels find and catch more fish. We go over how to rig the transducers and tune the depth finders; we use Lowrance Color Sonar units. There are schools of fish in all lakes that are never fished for. Most bass anglers cast to the banks looking for small fish. Most schools of bass are off shore in structure that the typical angler never knows are there. Learn about the latest mapping technologies. How to properly mount transducers. We spend the rest of the day using the latest Lowrance electronics. On the water at Lake Lanier we then go find the road beds humps standing timber and brush piles where the fish live. The school lasts a full eight hours for $350.00 for one or two anglers exclusively on Lake Lanier. To catch bass all year school of bass relate to structure off the banks. Instead of all the old places that look good we will find places nobody ever fishes. And most important how to find fish holding locations without a map how to use GPS technology and more. 770 889 2654 COPYRIGHT SOUTHERN FISHING SCHOOLS INC.

Area code 256 is Alabama. And there's mention of Georgia. I think Robert's point was that it could be any of those places. I don't like speaking for other people. If Ron H really wants some info on his Lake Weiss, he should tell us where it's at. And where he's at and what he might be fishing for. Come on Ron, help us out here and we'll try to help you out.

And I read RJ's post , thinking....$350 ??
For a day-long class on how to use a fish finder ??
Holy moly...! I have no rationale to spend THAT for the device, and if I were to spend in excess of that kind of coin (which, of course, is quite easy), I would hope to shout that I could read and understand the accompanying manual.

I was just recalling the #of 8hr classes I have taken in the past, that I emerged with either certification or license (Water Safety Instructor, Contractor's Board certified, A.S.I.D., American Society of Interior Designers, CNC class @ local community college, & so forth) and NONE were more than $250......and I reaped hundreds (WSI)if not thousands(Contractor's license) of $$$ for the expenditure.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.....my Dad would have said, "obvious case of more dollars than sense (cents !)".
