Hi guys I got all of these plus some crankbaits I will post later off of Craigslist. Can I use these in saltwater also or only freshwater. Also how would I rig it for example: Carolina rig or drop shot ect?
Also since they haven't been open are they still good?
I'm new at this so Im looking for video on how to use them in the water ect.
Thank you for each answers 😌😌😌

If it were me Prince I’d use them strictly for fresh water. That’s what they look like they look they are designed for. Get on UTube and find out how each one is used and also learn what three best knots are used for any type of fishing. A lot of practice tying knots is required if you want to have a better time fishing and less time trying to tie a knot that won’t come loose. Since they haven’t been opened they should be ok. Good luck.🤞

I can't see clearly in the photo, every thing looks to be freshwater baits, targeting bass. Texas rig, Carolina rig, drop shot, maybe shaky head. Before buying on line next time, know what you want, you can be buying somethings that you might never use. Keep fishing DEEJAY

Hey San Diego,
You can use the grey grub tails (center row, top) with a 3/8 to 1/2 oz lead head to cast from rocks in Mission Bay (near bridges) or San Diego Harbor (Harbor Island, Shelter Island) for Spotted Bat Bass, Calico Bass, Sand Bass and Halibut. I use a spinning rod with an extra foot(8 1/2 or 9ft) and light line (6lb P-Line; has smaller diameter so casts farther) on a fresh water spinning reel so I can cast light lures to the middle of the channel. Allow the grub tail to sink to the bottom and rest. Pull back on the rod to start the retrieve ( will often get hit here or on the sink) then reel slow to medium on the retrieve. Strike hard and quick on anything that feels like a bump...you will get snagged a lot but this increases your chances. There is a lot of eel grass, especially toward summer so you will need a high tide (4.5-6ft) to have enough water column to stay close but above the eel grass. Reel all the way to the rocks..fish can be hanging tight to the rocks to ambush bait particularly on a strong flood tide (is best). Have fun!

Smokestack that you so much I was wondering about San Diego bay area. Is this a good time to fish in those areas? I heard it was 4 good location. Which one do you prefer and is it best to go high tide or low?
I'm going to do what you meant also with my lures

Are you speaking of these? And if I don't use the bucktails what other kind of jig can I use?

Your plastics wont rust , My guess you can use them in any water with fish in it big enough to get your offerings in there mouths. Would like to go along just to see how many specie of critters would buy your offerings ! Sometimes fresh water offerings tear up the salt water critters and other times vise versa ! Give em a go, they aren't paying rent layin in your tackle box !

Hey Prince,
I have had best results in Mission Bay but I fish it lot more than the Harbot..I hear from others great results in the Harbor though...As for Mission Bay, the west side of the bridge between Islandia and Bahia Hotels can be great. Under, left and right toward the main channel, work your way down and you will get hit. Spring and summer are best but the spotted bay Bass are year round residence and will bite. I once saw boils and people jumping up an down in skiffs yelling to me, “Yellowtail!” I cast my grub tail jig out, fast-retrieved, got picked up and my four pound test got spooled. I was determined and went back with saltwater rig and cast a diamond jig into a boil at 7am. Result: Two 6 lb bullet Yellowtail from the rocks. In Mission Bay. In November! So can be variety and very good.

Oh, incoming(flood tide) to high tide is best. Bite will switch off like light switch for about an hour when tide reaches its peak. Will resume when water starts moving again, flooding out, sweeping bait and upwelling nutrients

Also key: Use dark lures on bright days and light or flashy lures on overcast days. Fish see by contrast not color, so a flashy lure on a bright day gets lost in the sun sparkling on the water/waves and vice-versa when the sun isn’t out.. especially if fish are below the lure looking up toward surface

Yes . Spro makes very good ones also a company called magic tails . These have caught more fish and huge ones than any other lure. They are the only lure included in special forces survival kits. Refer to videos and books by John Skinner about using bucktails for stripers and fluke. They imitate all kinds of bait.

Lead head type jig heads such as “Kalin’s” brand can also be used for Zoom fluke baits and paddle tail swing shads , gulp swimming mullets, gulp nemesis etc.Check out these products at Tackle Direct.

These type of baits/ lures have been absolutely deadly on weakfish/ speckled trout, red fish, stripers, cobia, flounder, many saltwater applications in back bays rivers , jetties ,inlets , surf .
