I'm curious because at my local reservoir, which stocks rainbows, the trout fishing is usually good in the backs of the coves. Coincidentally, I hear that trout also like more oxygenated water. How much does water oxygenation affect trout presence in lakes and reservoirs? And if there is any significant effect, where are the best locations in these lakes and reservoirs to fish for these stocked trout?

The amount of Oxygen for the depth of the water varies with the seasons. Lakes will do an invasion layer flip winter and summer. You didn't post what state your in so that makes it harder to help you on this. Winter and Summer make a lot of difference on where to find fish.
If you would put your location in your profile it would be much easier to help you.
Fish the down wind side or end of lake, also check the down wind side of any point , fish out on the end of the point
as wind blown Zoo plankton and Algae builds up at the down side which attracts the critters that feed on them which in turn attracts the trout ( other specie ) that in turn feed on them. When you see the Algae and Zoo plankton forming a band on the surface sliding along the current at the tip of the point you are looking at the starting of the food chain. The more weeds near by the hotter the action. Lots of wind blown areas are fishless as a link in the chain is missing usually the concentration of Algae and the Zoo Plankton , it only takes about 5 minutes to find out, leap frog till you hit pay dirt ! The Oxygen in the water is important but it is only the first link in the chain !
