What is a ideal oz to fish off a pier with a spoon? Thinking of getting some spoons and some plugs Any advice would be helpful pretty new to fishing

technically not "spoons" but the Kastmaster (blue or red stripe) or the Deadly dick ( also blue or red) are pretty effective. may want to put steel leader on if you start catching "cudas"

Test your rod by casting some of your fishing weights, you will find out fairly quick .
