Planning early Spring trout fishing. Restocking tackle box. What are best lures/
spinner/ bait?

Welcome to the Forum, Dawn, so, where is the Spring trout fishing trip going to be? When are the dates? Are you fly fishing or spin fishing? Are you stream fishing or lake fishing. We need more info. than what you gave us. Then we can give you some help. I would assume that you are going to the Driftless Area, but maybe not.

Welcome Dawn. We can offer much better advice if you let us know where you are, as well as whether you fish lakes, streams, or rivers and by what method, as well as shore or from boat....all necessary to whittle down the vast options to your needs.
As a general rule, trout fishing with lures, means spinners(like Mepps, Panther Martins, Roostertails, etc) and spoons & Kwikfish.
Still fishing with Powerbait is quite effective, as are worms, either fished like Powerbait or under a slip bobber.

Any of the typical spinners are excellent—Roostertail, Blue Fox, Panther Martin, Mepps. I always start the season with a good selection of spoons—Phoebe is one of my favorites. I am also very fond of the Mooselook Wobbler from Maine. When it comes to spoons color may be just as important as the type. Last year early season I had a lot of luck with orange. Good fishing!
