Kayak fishing: Stadium Seats?

Has anyone tried using a stadium seat in their SOT? The seat in my Sun Dolphin 12SS just kills my back and bottom on longer rides. Just looking for some input

I have a sit on top and have used a stadium seat many times. I still use a thin cushion on the seat and it is much better than what the kayak has.

Is your SOT pretty wide? If yours is as wide as mine, 32 inches, it may be hard to keep balance. You center of gravity will be higher and may cause you to flip over. If it is wider like 36 inches and the type you can stand on then you may be ok.

I put a piece of indoor outdoor carpet over sealed plywood cut to fit on top of my kayak where the seat is then hooked stadium chair to it.This also gave me a small storage area now under my seat perfect for a Plano box.. its still as stable as it was even though my center of gravity is noww a bit higher..
