If you can get a Lowrance hook2 4 for that you did well. Mine was almost 500. I have navionics though with triple scan. Transducer is about 10 inches long. I am learning how to use it but its great.

Lots of positive comments about the Garmin on this board. I just used mine for the first time ice fishing this last week and it was a game-changer. I can't speak to any comparison with the Lowrance though.
