What kinda perch? Here in California if it ain't a bass or a trout, it's a perch. Bream? Bluegill? Sunfish? Crappie? Far as I know there ain't no perch in Louisiana except for what you folks call perch. I'll shut up now. Welcome to the stage, go catch a perch and please post a photo of it so we all know what you're talking about. I'm willing to bet it ain't one of these - a perch.
That is one nice yellow perch!

That’s a really nice perch, Spirit.

Welcome aboard, I've never fished Pendleton but the chicken coop is really good in March. We have a friend that has a place on the coop, his pier is on the edge 20 to 25 foot deep, but a little off shore its 30+feet. We catch crappie there year round
Tight lines
I would be happy with a batch of perch like that one. I used to catch 3" ones all day long, but that one is nice.
Great tamales in Zwolle! Been there many many times but been a while. TB, my all time fav place to bass fish!!!
Fished Pendleton twice a year 7 days at a time. Drive 16 hours one way to get here. Stayed at Bridge Bay Resorts. Great people back then.
But never caught any perch. Plenty of other fish, you name it. Once landed 25 lb striper, even 40 lb snapping turtle.
I did not catch that perch! It's just a photo I found. I've caught plenty of perch in Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin, but never one that size. And I still say, there's no perch in Louisiana. Prove me wrong, post a photo of one.
Actually, a largemouth bass is a sunfish, which comes from the family Centrarchidae, which also include Crappie. It’s from the order Perciformes, which is same as a perch. So basically, it could be labeled a perch. LOL
