I’m a big fan of high end rods. Particularly G Loomis and St Croix . I fish these exclusively now.
For years I have been day dreaming about a Loomis NRX . It’s the Flagship Loomis model. I could never justify cost. Kept telling myself what I already have is good enough.
I started rounding up some of my unused gear and sold a lot of it already
I decided to pull the trigger and put some of those proceeds toward this rod .
I got the NRX 893 JWR. I’ll pair it with my Shimano Metanium and use it for deep shaky head and soft plastic work.
Kinda heavier finesse stuff

Rearranged some other reels and retired a St Croix Triumph that rarely got used. Got that sold already.

Now I think my Arsenal is complete.

Still in process of downsizing. I was sweating letting some stuff go but surprisingly I feel pretty good about it.
Discovered that a lot of that stuff didn’t carry any emotional significance for me
Hopefully those who bought it will use it and make some memories.

Let’s hear about that NRX as soon as you can get it wet.

I still can't let go of my Zebco Cardinal 4 with the back drag adjustment from the 60's. still works great Trout fishing.

Be careful about being absolutely finished Ben. There is this story about a widow who had a dream that she would never die until the house she was having remodeled was finished. So, this house had stairs, and balconeys, bedrooms, closets, and doors leading to nowhere, and more hallways, to other rooms, and such, on and on, inifnitem! You get the drift? Just Sayin...:RJS

Is that reel dark green and light green?
If it’s the one I’m thinking about a friend of mine when I was a kid had one on a yellow eagle claw rod.
Blast feom the past

That’s the one. My teenage years best friend had one of those. Orange yellow eagle claw rod.
Steve.
His folks leased an old farm that had an excellent pond.
Thanks for sharing that.

I’ve heard that story.
RJS you are probably right. I actually agonized over this one.
I have several GLX and some top shelf St Croix. Why I think I need better I don’t have a clue.
